‘Practice makes perfect’ is coach Richard Brown’s philosophy. We certainly have seen this as something the Beulah junior varsity football team lives by. Coach Brown believes if his team continues to learn and grow every week, then they can have a successful season.

He gets his players to excel to the next level by keeping things fun and communicating with his players about what they need to do to improve. When asked how he motivates his athletes, Coach Brown said, “The best motivation comes within the athlete. Everyone wants to win, but not everyone is willing to do what it takes to be successful. We constantly stress to our young men the difference between the two. As someone once said, ‘There is no substitute for hard work.’”

Coach Brown expects this season to be better than last. The key to reaching his expectations though is for his team to become mentally tough at crucial moments in their games. Once the team achieves this, they are bound to have a winning season. Expectations are set high and for this football season, the Bobcats are bound to win if they just play hard and have a good time.
